Risk Assessment

Risk assessments are conducted because it is the law and it is a requirement of the Accounts and Audit Regulations applicable to all parish councils. Embsay with Eastby Parish Council however recognizes the need is deeper than this. The identification, assessment, monitoring and control of risk is at the core of good management in any organisation.

A council existing to address the needs of its community and entrusted with public money to do so should clearly seek to adopt and apply the best practices of corporate governance.

In recognition of this professional attitude, Embsay with Eastby Parish Council has adopted a "Modern" Risk Assessment Register, one which includes risks with management or organisational aspects.
